Make delicious seasoned sweet potato wedges in the air fryer in less than 30 minutes!!
My grandfather always used to say, “never met a potato I didn’t like!” I think I am the same, but may need to switch up the saying slightly to read, “never met a SWEET potato I didn’t like.”
The only thing I dislike about sweet potatoes is that they take a while to bake, BUT if I use my air fryer I can really speed things up. Using your air fryer you can make delicious, seasoned sweet potato wedges in less than 30 minutes.
What kitchen tools will I need to make these seasoned sweet potato wedges?
- Sharp knife and cutting board to cut the sweet potatoes into wedges
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring spoons
- Air fryer
What air fryer is best?
I absolutely LOVE my air fryer because it also functions as a toaster, broiler, oven and convection oven. I have the Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven and I highly recommend it.
If you are looking for a more affordable air fryer, I recommend the Ninja air fryer or GoWise air fryer.

What ingredients will I need to make these sweet potato wedges?
- Medium sweet potatoes
- Oil – I usually use avocado oil

How to make sweet potato wedges in the air fryer
Step 1: Prepare sweet potato wedges and seasoning blend
To begin, slice the ends off each sweet potato and cut them into wedges. Then, combine salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne, cinnamon, onion powder, and garlic powder to make a seasoning blend.
Step 2: Toss sweet potatoes in oil and seasoning
Next, pour oil over the sweet potato wedges and toss to coat them. Then, pour the seasoning blend into the bowl and toss again to coat.
Preheat air fryer to 350F for 5 minutes. Then, arrange sweet potato wedges in an air fryer basket.
Make sure that the wedges are not touching – you may need to cook them in more than one batch.
Step 3: Air fry sweet potato wedges
Finally, air fry the seasoned sweet potato wedges at 350F for 8 minute. Remove them from the air fryer, flip them, and return them to cook for another 4 minutes.
Allow them to cool slightly and enjoy!
Storage and Reheating
Once prepared, allow the sweet potato wedges to cool completely and store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Reheat the seasoned sweet potato wedges in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 350F.

Delicious fries. I tried making a similar recipe before I saw this one, and I cut the sweet potatoes way too small and they burned easy. After I found this recipe, my fries are no longer burning.

Mine didn’t get crisp. Do u know why not.
I just got a new Corsori basket type.
★★★★★
Madeline says
these aren’t meant to get super super crispy. For crispier fries you can cut them much thinner and toss in a little corn starch with the seasoning blend
