These Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts will be your new favorite way to make perfectly crispy brussels sprouts at home. Just grab 4 basic ingredients and your air fryer and get to cooking this delicious side dish.

The air fryer is the best way to make perfectly crispy brussels sprouts!

I firmly believe that if you don’t like brussels sprouts, you just aren’t making them correctly. They need to be crispy.

I have been on the hunt for the best possible way to crisp your brussels sprouts. The truth is when you get them at a restaurant and every bite is perfectly crisped, they probably deep fried them.

The good news is that you can get that same crisp and flavor using an air fryer!! Just cut your brussels sprouts, toss them in oil, season them, and let them crisp up.

What is air frying?

Air frying is an alternative to deep frying where food is cooked with a very small amount of oil. The food still gets a crispy crust like it does with deep frying.

Air fryers cook food by circulating hot air around it. [1] It is very similar to a convection oven, but the air is circulated faster which allows the food to cook quickly.

Which air fryer should I use?

Most air fryers are an egg-shaped appliance that sits on the countertop and can be easily moved around. There are controls on the top and a basket to cook the food in on the bottom. The Ninja air fryer is a very popular option.

The air fryer that I have is a combination toaster oven and air fryer. I like this one because it has a slightly larger basket to cook bigger portions. It takes up more room on the counter, but it is more attractive and can be used for more than just air frying.

What ingredients will I need to make these Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts?

You only need a few ingredients to make this delicious, low carb side dish.

  • Brussels sprouts
  • Avocado oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Let’s make some Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts!

Step 1: Prep the brussels sprouts

To begin, trim the ends off the brussels sprouts and slice them in half. Then, add the brussels sprouts to a mixing bowl and pour in oil.

Next, toss the sprouts until each sprout has oil on it. Sprinkle salt and pepper on sprouts and toss again.

Step 2: Air fry the brussels sprouts

Then, place the Brussels sprouts in an air fryer basket. Next, air fry at 425F for 7 minutes.

After 7 minutes, remove the sprouts from the air fryer, give the sprouts a shake and return to the air fryer for another 7 minutes.

Finally remove the sprouts from the air fryer basket. They are best if enjoyed immediately while hot!

Step 4: Enjoy!

How should I store these air fried brussels sprouts?

These brussels sprouts are best if enjoyed immediately. If you want to use them later, you can slightly undercook them and store in the refrigerator and quickly reheat in your air fryer.

We go to a local wine spot that has amazing Brussels and these are even better. Simple to make yet packed with flavor, the char from the burnt pieces are so tasty! Definite keeper for the weekly menu plan.
