Make crispy cinnamon French toast sticks in the air fryer

These air fryer French toast sticks are perfect for a festive weekend breakfast or even meal prep. They are great enjoyed immediately or reheated throughout the week for a quick breakfast.

You can serve these French toast sticks with all kinds of fun dipping options. At our house we prefer warm maple syrup, but they would also be great with chocolate sauce for kids or this homemade pumpkin spice syrup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best air fryer?

I use the combination air fryer and toaster oven from Cuisinart and I love how big it is and it is easy to use.

Can I make these French toast sticks with non-dairy milk?

Yes! You can use almond milk or oat milk in place of dairy milk.

Can I make these in the oven?

Yes! Set your oven to 325F on convection. Cook your French toast sticks on a metal baking rack for 15 minutes flipping once halfway

How to make Air Fryer French Toast Sticks

Step 1: Cut bread into strips and prepare custard

To begin, slice bread into thirds to make sticks. Then, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt.

Step 2: Soak French toast sticks

Next, dip the bread into the egg mixture to soak for about 2 minutes. I don’t like to soak the bread for longer because it can get too soggy and fall apart.

Step 3: Air fry until golden brown

Preheat air fryer to 300F and spray the basket with spray oil. Then, place French toast sticks in the basket.

Air fry at 300F for 5 minutes, flip and cook for another 5 minutes. Increase the air fryer heat to 400F and cook for another 2 minutes just to brown the French toast sticks.

Finally, serve with powdered sugar and maple syrup.

Storage and reheating

Store the cooked air fryer French toast in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. I recommend reheating it in the toaster oven or air fryer.
