A Delicious and Simple Alfredo Sauce for Homemade Chicken Alfredo
I have to start this blog by saying that I am a red sauce kind of gal. I always thought it was weird when people ordered white pizza or Alfredo pasta over the other option, but this one pan chicken Alfredo successfully changed my mind.
Like many of the recipes I make, I made this one pan chicken Alfredo at the request of my girlfriend. I did not have high expectations for it especially because I don’t consider myself a cream sauce lover, but it was so good. So good that I ended up making it for dinner two nights in a row.
If you are on a low carb diet or just trying to eat less pasta, this one pan chicken Alfredo may give you your Italian dinner craving even without the pasta. I don’t eat low carb all the time, but when I do I sometimes miss cozy Italian dinners like pizza and pasta. This simple, cozy meal gave me all of the comfort of a bowl of pasta without the pasta!
The first night that I made this one pan chicken Alfredo I served it over some zucchini noodles. I make zoodles at home with my spiralizer. If you don’t want to go to the trouble of making your own many grocery stores now carry the pre-made zoodles.
If you aren’t worried about cutting carbs, this one pan chicken Alfredo recipe makes more than enough Alfredo sauce to enjoy it with a standard bowl of pasta. I recommend enjoying it with some fusilli noodles. The second time that I made this dish I served it with roasted broccoli and I was a huge fan of the cheese sauce and broccoli combo.
I just thought of this now, but if you have kids and you are trying to get them to eat their broccoli, try putting this cheese sauce from this one pan chicken Alfredo on steamed or roasted veggies. I’m not a kid and I don’t have kids, but this Alfredo sauce is so good that I was pretty much eating it by the spoonful each time I tested this recipe.
Kitchen Tools and Ingredients
This simple low carb meal can be made in less than 30 minutes and with very basic ingredients. To make this one pan chicken Alfredo you only need a couple of kitchen tools.
You will need a meat tenderizer to pound the chicken thin. Other than that you basically need a frying pan to cook the meal in. If you want to serve it over zoodles then, a spiralizer is another good tool to have for this recipe.
The ingredients you will need to make this one pan chicken Alfredo are very simple. Grab some boneless skinless chicken breasts, seasonings, avocado oil, butter, cream and parmesan cheese. It’s really that simple to make this delicious low carb meal!
How to make a one pot chicken alfredo
To make this one pan chicken alfredo start by pounding the chicken breasts to half their original thickness. Then season the chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, basil and parsley. Cook the chicken over medium heat on 5 minutes each side.
Remove the chicken from the pan, but leave the pan on the heat. Melt butter in the frying pan and then pour in the heavy cream. Cook the butter and heavy cream over medium low for about 5 minutes stirring frequently.
Reduce the heat to low and slowly pour in the grated parmesan while stirring the sauce. Once all the cheese is mixed into the sauce add the chicken back to the pan and toss until fully coated. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve however you would like.
