Andrea left this 5 star review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Perfect for a hot summer day. Consistency is spot on.”

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Perfect for a batch drink – This frozen mango margarita recipe makes 2 very strong drinks but it can easily be doubled or quadrupled for a bigger crowd. I love to have a classic margarita, but it is fun to try different margarita flavors for each taco Tuesday!
  • Great for any summer party – This margarita is so refreshing and I love making it for any summer gathering. It would be perfect for Cinco de Mayo.
  • Easy to make – It is SO easy to make because you can use frozen mango chunks from the freezer aisle. No need to peel and cut fresh mangos.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Here’s a quick look at the ingredients you need to make this frozen mango margarita recipe. For a full list of ingredients and amounts please head to the full recipe.

overhead shot of mango margarita ingredients including ice, frozen mango, lime juice, triple sec, tequila, and simple syrup
  • Frozen mango – the frozen mango makes this recipe so easy to make and they can be found in most grocery stores
  • Blanco tequila – I prefer silver tequila for this recipe but you can also use reposado tequila.
  • Lime juice – I love using fresh squeezed lime juice
  • Simple syrup, maple syrup, honey or agave nectar – Use whatever sweetener you prefer or whatever you have on hand. I love agave syrup for this recipe.
  • Triple sec or any orange liqueur – Cointreau or grand marnier work great, but any triple sec will work
  • Ice – you can adjust amount of ice cubes in your drink based on your taste and how strong you like your drinks
  • Salt, sugar or tajin for the rim of your glass – add any rim to your glass that you enjoy! Tajin adds a little spice and is delicious with the mango flavor

How to make this Frozen Mango Margarita recipe

Step 1: Blend all ingredients until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a splash more of water or lime juice.

Step 2:  Prepare 2 glasses by rubbing a slice of lime around the rim. Dip and twist the rim of the glass in kosher salt on a flat plate.

Step 3: Divide the margaritas into the two prepped glasses, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve. Best if enjoyed immediately.

Mad’s Expert Tips for the Best Frozen mango margaritas 🥭

  • Shaken instead of frozen -You can make this a shaken drink instead of a frozen one. Just replace the frozen mango and sweetener with 1/2 cup of mango juice or mango puree. Shake the mango juice in a cocktail shaker with the tequila and lime juice with ice. Pour over ice and top with a little bit of lime seltzer water. Garnish with a wedge of lime and serve.
  • No alcohol? No problem – You can easily turn this mango margarita into a mocktail! Just leave out the tequila and the triple sec. Replace the tequila with the same amount of sparkling water – I prefer to use a lime flavored one. And you can add a splash of orange juice in place of the triple sec.
  • Add some heat – Add a pinch of chili powder or cayenne pepper powder to add a little kick to this recipe.
  • Get creative with choice of fruit – You can also use this same recipe with any of your favorite frozen fruit. Strawberries or pineapple would be delicious.
  • Make ahead of time – Prepare ahead of time and freeze in a silicone ice cube tray. Then, blend just before serving.

My favorite way to serve this frozen mango margarita recipe is on taco Tuesday alongside some amazing homemade tacos, like Ground Beef Baked Tacos, Spiced Chickpea Tacos, or Hidden Veggie Turkey Tacos.

I used yellow mangos that sat out a little longer on accident, instead of throwing them away I froze them and wow! So good!
