Blend up a Frozen Mango Margarita for the perfect summer cocktail. Use frozen mango chunks to make this frozen margarita recipe even easier.

Make the most refreshing summer cocktail

If you’ve been following along on instagram, you know I’m having a real moment with mango. I created this mango margarita recipe last summer when I was still drinking tequila (none for this pregnant momma) and now I’m finally sharing it with all of you.

It is SO easy to make because you can use frozen mango chunks from the freezer aisle. No need to peel and cut fresh mangos.

This recipe makes 2 very strong drinks but it can easily be doubled or quadrupled for a bigger crowd. Amy and I love trying different margarita flavors for each taco Tuesday!

Two frozen mango margaritas in serving glasses

Kitchen tools

  • Sharp knife and cutting board
  • Small plate
  • High speed blender
  • Cocktail or margarita glasses for serving

How to serve

This frozen margarita pairs perfectly with an outdoor happy hour alongside your favorite charcuterie board. My favorite way to serve them is on taco Tuesday alongside some amazing homemade tacos.

Some of my favorite taco recipes are:

  • Ground Beef Baked Tacos
  • Spiced Chickpea Tacos
  • Hidden Veggie Turkey Tacos

Ingredients

  • Frozen mango
  • Blanco tequila
  • Lime juice
  • Simple syrup OR maple syrup OR honey
  • Triple sec
  • Ice
  • Salt, sugar or tajin for the rim

Can I make it a mango mocktail

You can easily turn this mango margarita into a mocktail!! Just leave out the tequila and the triple sec.

Replace the tequila with the same amount of sparkling water – I prefer to use a lime flavored one. And you can add a splash of orange juice in place of the triple sec.

Step by step assembly of frozen mango margarita

How to make a frozen mango margarita

Step 1: blend margarita

To begin, place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If you have trouble blending, you can add a splash more of water or lime juice.

Step 2: Prep margarita glasses

Then, prepare 2 glasses by rubbing a cut lime around the rim. Dip and twist the rim of the glass in kosher salt on a flat plate.

You can also use raw sugar or tajin for the rim. I love the spicy sweet mix of the tajin and mango.

Finally, divide the margaritas into the two prepped glasses and serve. Best if enjoyed immediately

Can i make this ahead of time?

This frozen mango margarita recipe is best enjoyed immediately, BUT there is a way to prepare it ahead of time. Blend the frozen margarita as instructed.

Then, pour it into silicone ice cube trays and freeze the trays of cubes. When you are ready to serve them, pop the cubes out and blend with a splash of water and serve!

I used yellow mangos that sat out a little longer on accident, instead of throwing them away I froze them and wow! So good!
