Healthy Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce
I love the challenge of making my takeout or fast food favorites in a healthier version at home. So a few weeks ago I asked my followers for a sauce recipe that they wanted me to remake at home and Chick-fil-A sauce was the top result. I created this healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce as a healthier alternative to the original.
You may be interest in how I went about creating this healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce. I started by reading the ingredient list on the original sauce. I was less than impressed by that list of ingredients.
I knew that the sauce needed to be sweet and tangy like a honey mustard, but creamy like a mayonnaise. The other component to the traditional Chick-fil-A sauce is barbecue flavor and smoke. I used smoked paprika to get that smoke flavor naturally.

For full transparency, my healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce might not be as sweet as the sauce you remember, but it will be better for you. The only sweetener in this sauce is honey. Unlike the original sauce, which has processed sugars.
We have been enjoying this sauce on homemade french fries and chicken tenders. It is delicious as a mayonnaise alternative on a turkey sandwich. Of course, it would be a delicious spread on a chicken sandwich
Once my healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce is made I like to store it in these small jars in the fridge. The mouth of the jar is wide enough that I can dip directly into it. The sauce will thicken a bit as it sits in a container in the fridge.
This healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce is so easy to make and comes together in just a few minutes. Once you have all of your ingredients gathered, all you need to do is blend them up. I made a quick tutorial video so you can see just how simple it is. Hit play on the video above to see it.
You will only need simple kitchen ingredients to make the healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce. Start with a room temperature egg, honey, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, tomato paste, mustard, onion powder, garlic powder and smoked paprika. Be sure to use smoked paprika so you get that nice smoky flavor.
The only other ingredient you will need is extra light olive oil. You need to use a light oil with a mild flavor. Extra virgin olive oil will lend a strong flavor to the sauce and make it unpleasant.
The kitchen tools you will need to make this healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce are some measuring cups and spoons and a high speed blender. If you do not have a regular blender, you can use an immersion blender, but your sauce will be a bit thicker.
To make this healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce place all ingredients except for the extra light olive oil in a blender. Blend all of the ingredients until smooth and fully combined. Keep the blender running and pour in a steady stream of oil.
Then, keep blending until oil is fully incorporated and you are left with a smooth and creamy sauce. Pour the healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
