Let’s make some spinach dip!
Step 1: Defrost spinach and cook with garlic
First, defrost the spinach and drain excess water. Then, mince the garlic. Next, heat oil and garlic over medium-low heat.
Then, saute garlic until soft and fragrant for about 4 minutes. Add the spinach and salt to the pan and cook over medium-low for 5 minutes tossing frequently. Next, remove the spinach from heat.
Step 2: Mix garlic spinach with dairy
Then, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream in a small mixing bowl. If the cream cheese is not soft enough, you can microwave for 15 seconds. Next, add the sautéed spinach to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
Either enjoy immediately or place in the fridge to chill. I like to serve this dip chilled with veggies.

Easy Spinach Dip

- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup frozen chopped spinach
- 1 oz packet of onion dip/soup mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup plain nonfat greek yogurt
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add frozen chopped spinach. Saute over medium heat until warmed through – about 4 minutes.
- Pour onion seasoning mixture into the pan and toss to combine with the spinach. Toast in the pan for 1-2 more minutes then pour into a mixing bowl.
- Allow the spinach to cool for a couple of minutes. Then, add sour cream and greek yogurt to the mixing bowl and mix to combine evenly.
- Serve immediately or chill in the fridge and serve chilled with chips and vegetables.
Recipe Notes
- You can use a different ratio of sour cream to greek yogurt depending on your preferences. You can also opt for only one or the other.
- Fresh spinach will also work in this recipe. Chop it finely and saute it until wilted.
- Allow spinach to cool before combining it in the dip to avoid any curdling.
- Store leftover dip in an airtight container for up to five days.
