This list includes 10 different healthy snack ideas to pack for work or for a trip. These are 10 healthy snack boxes that are perfect for a small meal like breakfast or to keep you satisfied between meals.
I take snacking very seriously.
One time I met a girl who said, “I just don’t snack.” And I’ve never forgotten that state. I love snacks, but I also try to prioritize healthy portable snacks.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen the various healthy snack recipes that I prepare for work or for trips. I have rounded up a list of 10 of my favorite healthy snack combinations. Sometimes I eat these for a small meal like breakfast, but most of the time I pack these as a healthy snack for work.
How do I pack these 10 healthy snack boxes?
Most of the ingredients that I use in these healthy snack recipes are fresh and need to be refrigerated. Therefore, I usually pack my snacks in stainless steel boxes and then carry them in my lunch bag with an ice pack.
All of my snack boxes come from Amazon. I like this small one for snacks and this medium one for a larger snack or for breakfast.
Let’s get to this list of 10 healthy snack boxes!
#1 SAVORY SNACK LOVER
This healthy snack box is filled with all of my favorites. I made this one with some baby dill pickles, buffalo seasoned almonds, sliced cheddar cheese, and some cherry tomatoes. I almost always crave savory snacks so this is a perfect combination of those.
#2 VEGGIE SNACK BOX
This fully plant-based snack box is perfect for vegans and vegetarians alike. I usually think of plant-based snacks as sweet options so I created a healthy plant-based snack box of savory snacks!
I made some crispy chickpeas by seasoning chickpeas in some salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Then I heated a little avocado oil over medium heat and cooked the chickpeas in the pan for 8-10 minutes or until your desired crisp. I paired these chickpeas with seasoned almonds, carrots, and sliced dill pickles.
#3 SWEET AND SAVORY
I like a healthy snack at work with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. This snack box has some sliced strawberries and chocolate covered almonds to curb my sweet tooth. Then, I have some homemade caesar dressing and cucumber slices to take care of my savory craving.
#4 LOADED BREAKFAST BOX
If I want to eat my breakfast on the go at work or while traveling, I will pack it up like a healthy snack box. In this breakfast box I packed up some of my healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce, roasted potatoes, a few strips of bacon and 2 heard boiled eggs.
#5 ALL SWEET SNACK BOX
If you have big sweet tooth, this healthy snack idea is for you. In this box I packed some chocolate granola, berries, and almond butter cups. This would also be delicious when paired with some plain greek yogurt for a loaded yogurt snack bowl or breakfast.
#6 BALANCED BREAKFAST BOX
If you aren’t a bacon person, you might be more excited about this balanced breakfast box. I packed this healthy snack box with a filling and balanced breakfast of mixed berries, roasted potatoes and jammy hard boiled eggs.
#7 ITALIAN SNACK BOX
This healthy snack box was a bit hit when I shared it on Instagram. The highlight of this work snack recipe are the marinated mozzarella balls.
I made the marinated mozzarella balls by combining 8oz mini mozzarella balls with 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 tsp of red wine vinegar, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper. I paired the mozzarella with some salami, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers.
If you don’t like to eat salami, you can replace it with some salted marcona almonds or even some cubed grilled chicken.
#8 A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING
If you are looking for a little bit of everything in your healthy work snack, this is the snack box for you. It starts out with some peppered salami and cheddar cheese for that savory craving.
Then, there are some fresh cucumber slices for a little crunch. Finally, there are some dark chocolate covered almonds to finish your healthy snack with a little something sweet.
#9 LOW CARB SNACK BOX
Keeping your work snack break low carb can be a great way to keep your energy up during the afternoon. Even though I no longer follow a low carb diet, I find that I am more energetic after a healthy low carb snack.
This healthy snack box includes cherry tomatoes, mixed olives, roasted macadamia nuts, Chomps beef stick, and some cheddar cheese.
#10 WHOLE30 SNACKS
For me, having healthy snacks on hand through my Whole30 journey was key. This packable work snack is loaded up with a balanced selection of Whole30 approved snacks. I started with sliced dill pickles, a beef Chomps bar, seasoned Marcona almonds, and fresh raspberries.
What about portion sizes?
I don’t list exact portion sizes on this post, but I usually use the small snack box which keeps portions small. If you are concerned about the size or calories of your snack, refer to the food package recommendations.
