One day I was craving tuna salad and realized we had run out of mayonnaise. In a pinch I combined some lemon juice and feta to hold the tuna salad together and it was absolutely delicious.

- Canned albacore tuna
- Celery
- Dill
- Lemon zest and lemon juice
- Feta
- Cracked black pepper
What is the best canned tuna?
I like to buy wild caught albacore tuna. For this recipe I look for wild caught albacore tuna packed in water without added salt.
How to make a healthy tuna salad with lemon and feta
Step 1: Prep ingedients
Open and drain tuna cans. Chop celery into small pieces.
Add lemon juice, feta cheese, lemon zest and black pepper to a mixing bowl. Mix until they are evenly combined.
Step 2: Mix it all together and serve
Add tuna, celery and fresh dill to the bowl. Toss to combine again. Serve with black pepper on lettuce, bread or with crackers or cucumbers.
How to serve this no mayo tuna salad
Once prepared, you can serve this lemon dill tuna salad just like an other tuna salad! I like to have this healthy tuna salad on a bed of romaine lettuce with cucumbers and crackers.
This tuna salad without mayo is also delicious on a sandwich or open face on a piece of toast!
Can I make this tuna salad without mayo ahead of time?
I prefer to enjoy this lemon dill tuna salad immediately, but if you can prepare it ahead of time. Prep this tuna salad and store it in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Lemon Dill Tuna Salad
Ingredients
- 2 cans no salt added albacore tuna 5oz each
- 3 stalks of celery
- 2 tbsp fresh dill
- Zest from 1 lemon
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 oz feta cheese I prefer the block feta in brine
- 1 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
