8ozready to bake pizza doughthe dough balls usually come in 16oz balls so its great to double this recipe in 2 skillets
¼cuppizza sauce
¾cupshredded mozzarella cheese
Any other pizza toppingspepperoni, sausage, peppers or black olives
Instructions
At least 2 hours before baking, brush olive oil along the bottom and sides of the cast iron skillet. Place the dough in the skillet, cover with plastic wrap and allow to sit at room temperature for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 425F. Spread dough in an even layer along the bottom of the skillet. Bake just the dough at 425F for 5 minutes.
Remove from the skillet from the oven and top with sauce and cheese - bring the toppings all the way to the edge of the dough.
Return the skillet to the oven and bake for 10 more minutes.
Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the skillet and cutting into slices.
