I’ve been doing this food blogging / Instgram gig long enough to know that if I don’t like the options for a store bought food, I should just try to make it myself. So when I took to Instagram stories last week to complain about the lack of a sugar free sriracha option I should not have been surprised that at least 40 people sent me a quick DM saying, “Just make one at home!!!” I don’t know why it took me so long to think of this simple solution, but I finally did and WOW. This Whole30 Chile Garlic Sauce is perfection. It is so simple to make and is slightly sweet thanks to roasted red peppers!

I got a message suggesting that I make my own sriracha using some roasted red bed bell peppers to sweeten and that was a wonderful tip. The flavor comes from the spice of the korean chile flakes and the freshly chopped garlic, some tang from the lime and vinegar and a nice, subtle sweetness from the red bell peppers. This Whole30 Chile Garlic Sauce was exactly what I needed to up my Whole30 breakfast game.
First on my list for this delicious sauce was of course a big plate of eggs, but it was also incredible on the roasted veggies that I also had on the plate. My next meals I’m trying this on are some roasted chicken, hard boiled eggs, roasted salon, sauteed mushrooms, avocado BASICALLY EVERYTHING. I want to eat this whole30 chile garlic sauce on eeeeverything.
This Whole30 Chile Garlic Sauce is just one in a long line of recipes that I have found taste even better when you make them at home yourself. I recently made homemade mayo for the first time and I fell in loooovve. I was able to control the ingredients so it ended up more like an aioli consistency than a mayo. For the mayo I use my immersion blender, but for this sauce I wanted to puree the roasted red pepper finely so I made it in my food processor. PS if you’re looking for these awesome squeeze bottles I’ve linked them here. They are essential for making your own dressings and sauces!
To make this recipe you basically just throw all of the ingredients in the food processor and blend until smooth. The last ingredient is xanthan gum which is optional, but is a perfect way to thicken the sauce up a little. Whenever I use xanthan gum it is only less than a tsp at a time so I bought a bag a while ago and it has lasted me forever!
