Servings: 4 servings 1x
Ingredients
- 12oz ground pork sausage roll – I used Jone’s Dairy Farm
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 6 tbsp water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 6oz mozzarella – I used mini mozzarella balls, but you can use shredded mozzarella or slices too
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F
- Heat a small cast iron skillet over medium heat and place a roll of pork sausage in the warm skillet
- Break up the pork into crumbles with a stiff spatula, cook until browned about 6 minutes – if you are having trouble getting the crumbles to break apart you can take them out of the skillet once cooked and chop them
- Make a simple pizza sauce by mixing the tomato paste, water, salt, crushed red pepper, oregano, and garlic powder
- Take the pizza sauce and mix it into the sausage crumbles in the skillet
- Top with the mozzarella cheese and place in the oven
- Bake at 400F for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is browned on top
- Enjoy with green bell pepper slices or slices of toasted baguette
