Prep: 5 minutesCook: 20 minutesTotal: 25 minutes
Servings: 4 servings 1x

  • 12oz ground pork sausage roll – I used Jone’s Dairy Farm
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 6oz mozzarella – I used mini mozzarella balls, but you can use shredded mozzarella or slices too

  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. Heat a small cast iron skillet over medium heat and place a roll of pork sausage in the warm skillet
  3. Break up the pork into crumbles with a stiff spatula, cook until browned about 6 minutes – if you are having trouble getting the crumbles to break apart you can take them out of the skillet once cooked and chop them
  4. Make a simple pizza sauce by mixing the tomato paste, water, salt, crushed red pepper, oregano, and garlic powder
  5. Take the pizza sauce and mix it into the sausage crumbles in the skillet
  6. Top with the mozzarella cheese and place in the oven
  7. Bake at 400F for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is browned on top
  8. Enjoy with green bell pepper slices or slices of toasted baguette
