Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps
One night when I was about to order takeout I turned to my girlfriend and said, “I think we can whip something up with this ground chicken.” The result was this incredible and simple recipe for sesame chicken lettuce wraps. We loved it the first time around, but I made a few tweaks to make this recipe truly perfect.
I think everyone needs a good lettuce wrap option in their weekly recipe rotation. I really love my instant pot beef lettuce wraps, but these sesame chicken lettuce wraps are even easier! They are certainly my new favorite.

I love building a list of whole30 recipes that I know I can rely on any time I need to repeat the whole30 as a little reset. I know many people are hesitant to try a whole30 because they think it might be too much work, but with 30 minute recipes like this it can be easy!
You don’t need complicated kitchen gear to throw this sesame chicken lettuce wrap recipe together. I use a sharp knife to dice the pepper and onion. Then I grate my ginger and garlic on a microplane. Finally I use a large sauté pan to bring the whole thing together.
Let’s talk about the basic ingredients you will need to make sesame chicken lettuce wraps. Start with a pound of ground chicken, a small red bell pepper, a yellow onion, lettuce, and some garlic and ginger. Those are the fresh ingredients you will need.
For the sauce grab some coconut aminos (whole30 friendly version of soy sauce), fish sauce, sesame oil and lime juice. Other than that you will need salt and pepper, a little avocado oil and some green onions and toasted sesame seeds for garnishing.
It could not be easier to put these tasty sesame chicken lettuce wraps together in less than 30 minutes. Start with some oil and veggies in the pan. Cook them on medium low until soft and fragrant. Then remove them from the pan and replace them with the chicken to brown it.
While that cooks prepare the simple sauce. Once the chicken is browned, add the sauce and veggies back to the pan. Simmer all ingredients together to combine the flavors. Serve on a lettuce wrap with sesame seeds and green onion.
