It could not be easier to put these tasty sesame chicken lettuce wraps together in less than 30 minutes. Start with some oil and veggies in the pan. Cook them on medium low until soft and fragrant. Then remove them from the pan and replace them with the chicken to brown it.

While that cooks prepare the simple sauce. Once the chicken is browned, add the sauce and veggies back to the pan. Simmer all ingredients together to combine the flavors. Serve on a lettuce wrap with sesame seeds and green onion.

Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps

ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 small red bell pepper
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1 inch nub fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks green onion
  • One head of lettuce like butter lettuce or romaine

instructions:

How to cook Sesame Chicken Lettuce Wraps

  1. Dice the red bell pepper and white onion and mince the garlic and ginger
  2. Heat avocado oil over medium-low in a large saute pan and add minced garlic and ginger
  3. Cook until soft and fragrant about 3 minutes
  4. Add onion and pepper to the pan and cook on medium for 6 minutes
  5. Remove veggies from the pan and set aside
  6. Add ground chicken to the pan and brown over medium heat for 5 minutes. As it cooks use a spatula to break up the chicken into crumbles
  7. While the chicken cooks combine the coconut aminos, fish sauce, sesame oil, and lime juice to make a sauce
  8. Add the veggies back to the pan with the sauce
  9. Bring the pan to a simmer  and then reduce heat and continue cooking until all flavors are combined about 3 minutes
  10. Top with sesame seeds and green onion and serve on lettuce
