Potato Chip Chicken Tenders
Growing up my family was babysat by a family of sisters. It was a nice setup because if one of the sisters wasn’t available my mom would just ask for another sister. The oldest sister, Alex, always made us potato chip chicken tenders for dinner when she babysat.
I have always loved chicken tenders, but I especially love the fried ones that you get at a place like a diner or a snack bar. These potato chip chicken tenders rival the fried ones except they are baked and you can make them at home. That’s my kind of chicken tender!
Alex always made potato chip chicken tenders with sour cream and onion chips. I decided to changes things up, but keep the same flavor profile. I mixed spices into the flour for dredging and used plain potato chips.

Potato chip chicken tenders are surprisingly easy to make. They take just a few simple ingredients and 45 minutes to make. Once they are made, I promise, you won’t be able to stop eating these crispy potato chip chicken tenders.
They are incredible when dipped into my healthy copycat Chick-fil-A sauce. They are even better when you pair them with the sauce and some homemade french fries. Lately I have been making my homemade fries extra crispy in my air fryer.
I also like to throw these crispy potato chip chicken on a bed of lettuce. I make a big salad with some crispy tenders and homemade buffalo ranch dressing. These potato chip chicken tenders would also be delicious on a wrap.
You only need a few simple kitchen tools to make these potato chip chicken tenders. The most crucial tool is a baking sheet with a rack. The rack helps the chicken tenders stay extra crispy when they bake. You will also need some mixing bowls and a sharp knife to cut the chicken into tenders.
It only takes a few simple ingredients to make these delicious and crispy potato chip chicken tenders. To start you will need boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into tenders. Then you will need flour seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, dried parsley, and dried dill.
I use wavy potato chips instead of the plain ones because they are a little thicker and give the chicken tenders more of a fried texture. I take the potato chips and smash them into small pieces. Then the chips are ready to be breading.
To make these potato chip chicken tenders start by preheating the oven to 400F. Then, line a baking sheet with parchment and place a wire rack on the sheet. Next, cut the chicken breast into tenders.
Then, scramble the eggs together in a small bowl. In a shallow dish combine flour, salt, pepper, onion powder, parsley, and dill. Next, smash potato chips into small pieces until they are small enough to be a breading.
Then, bread the chicken tenders by dipping them first into the flour, then in the egg wash and finally coating them in the potato chip breading. Place each tender on the rack on the baking tray. Then, bake them in the oven at 400F for 30 minutes.
Finally, remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly and enjoy! If you don’t enjoy all of the tenders at once, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat the tenders in an oven or toaster oven.
