Dairy Free Habanero Queso

For this super delicious recipe I had the opportunity to team up with Yellowbird Foods to create a fall recipe with their incredible hot sauces. What screams fall more than football? Pretty much nothing. And if you know me, you know that I can only watch #sports if I have good snacks in front of me to keep me entertained. This dairy free habanero queso and a big bowl of siete chips will definitely work!
I loooooovvveee queso now, but I went through a period of my life where I just decided that I didn’t like it. Maybe it was food fear and maybe I just wanted to be different, but I avoided the stuff for years. Then I went to college in the south and I couldn’t avoid it anymore. Queso was EVERYWHERE and for good reason. Queso is delicious.
When I got more comfortable experimenting in the kitchen, I realized that cashews and cauliflower are two ingredients that I can rely on to make a vegan recipe extra creamy or cheesy and then when you combine that cheesiness with some spice it gets even better!
I love trying new hot sauce flavors and Yellowbird’s variety pack did not disappoint. My absolute favorite is the Blue Agave Sriracha, but a close runner up is the Habanero Condiment and I thought that it would be the perfect flavor to combine with the butternut squash and cashews to make this creamy dip. This sauce has a nice KICK though so I only used about a tablespoon in my recipe, but if you like things spicier feel free to add even more!
