Since I was diagnosed with Psoriasis nearly 10 years ago I have tried my best to clean up the products that I use on my skin. This started with my moisturizer and body was and has now extended to my skincare, haircare, and makeup routine.
I am committed to finding products that are good for my body and still make me feel confident in my appearance. If you have followed me on Instagram for a while, you may have noticed that I am wearing makeup and styling my hair more frequently than I had in the past.
There are a couple of reasons for this:
I find that “getting ready” for work in this way, even when I’m working from home, helps me be more productive.
I found a routine that works perfectly for me. I love the products I am using and they make me feel confident.

In the shower, I always wash my face with the Tatcha Rice Polish Cleanser . This is a pricey little bottle of face scrub, BUT it lasts forever! I have used this bottle at least 4 times a week every week for nearly a year.
If I am not taking a shower before bed I use the Dual Cleansing method from Primally Pure. To do this I wash my face first with their oil cleanser – this step gets all of my makeup off. Then I follow up with the baby bar.
Then, I spray my face with the Primally Pure Neroli Complexion Mist . While my face is still damp from the mist I cover my face in Primally Pure’s Blue Tansy Beauty Cream . This is SUPER hydrating so I like to use it at night so it can soak in.
Hair Technique and Products
One of the places where my Psoriasis affects me worst is on my scalp. Because of this, I have to be very careful about the shampoo and conditioner that I use. Every time I shower I use the Wow Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo + Coconut Conditioner .
I apply the ACV shampoo and then massage it in with this Shampoo Brush + Scalp Massager. I let that shampoo sink in for a few minutes. Then I rinse it out and shampoo with the R+Co Oblivion Clarifying Shampoo. I finish it all with the coconut conditioner.
If I am not styling my hair immediately, I brush it with the Wet Brush , part it in the center, twist it into a low bun and secure with a Spiral Hair Tie . I like to air dry my hair at least partially like this and then style it.
If I need to style my hair directly from the shower I will brush it and then rub some R+Co High Dive Moisture and Shine Cream through the ends. Then I part it in the middle and I blow dry it. I have no technique for this I just separate it into sections and make sure its all dry.
Whether I air dry my hair or blow it dry, I usually curl it with an INFINITI PRO by Conair 1 1/4” Curling Iron . I pull up most of my hair and curl the lowest layer first. I curl the section next to my face in the direction away from my face. Then, I curl the next section towards my face.
I repeat this process alternating curls towards my face and away from my face until my whole head is curled. I run my fingers through my hair gently at the end to loosen the curls.
I am NOT a makeup expert, but this is a routine that works well for me. If I am really focused I can get through this routine in 5 minutes or less! I start with the Josie Maran Vibrancy Argan Oil Liquid Foundation. I apply one pump of this over moisturized skin with a makeup sponge.
Then I use the Tarte Sea Aquacealer Concealer under my eyes and over any large blemishes. I gently dab with my makeup sponge to blend this in.
Because I have naturally dark brows I started using Anastasia Clear Brow Gel instead of a tinted one. I apply this after my concealer.
Then I take the ILIA Multi Stick in Dreamer and dab it onto the apples of my cheeks. A little goes a long way with this one! Then, I take the W3LL People Bronzer Stick and lightly trace the areas I like to add bronzer. I blend the blush and bronzer in with the makeup sponge.
