Can you make breakfast sausage patties at home?
Yes! I was intimidated by this task at first, but it is easier than you think to make healthy and delicious sausage patties at home. I chose to flavor the sausage patties with cranberries and thyme to celebrate the flavors of the holiday season!
To make these cranberry thyme sausage patties I sauteed together some onions, fresh cranberries, a little maple syrup, and seasonings. Then, I took that mixture and combined it with pork sausage, an egg and a little bit of almond found. Finally, I formed the patties and baked them.
What kitchen tools will I need to make these cranberry thyme baked sausage patties?
It is very easy to make this breakfast sausage in your home kitchen. You will need is a knife for dicing your onion. You will need a frying pan for sauteing your cranberries and onions. Finally, you will need some mixing bowls and a sheet pan for mixing and baking the sausage patties.
What ingredients will I need to prepare these baked breakfast sausages?
I tried to keep the ingredients basic so that it will be easy to make this sausage in your home kitchen. If you do not have almond flour, traditional flour will work.

Let’s make some sweet and savory sausage patties!
Step 1: Chop and sauté
Pour in the maple syrup and fresh cranberries and stir constantly until the cranberries burst. Once the cranberries begin to burst, mash them down with the back of a utensil and cook on low for a few more minutes. Remove the mixture from the heat to cool.
Step 2: Mix it all up
In a large mixing bowl combine the cooled cranberry mixture, pork sausage, egg, and almond flour. Mix together with utensils or your hands until an even mixture remains.
Step 3: Bake
Form 12 small patties with the mixture. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400F for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before enjoying.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Can I make these sausage patties ahead of time?
Yes! Once baked these sausage patties will be good in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. We like to reheat them in the oven or toaster oven to maintain the crisp outside, but you can also microwave them.
