Cast Iron Meatballs

Healthy Whole30 meatball recipe that you can make in a cast iron skillet.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • Optional: 24oz jar of marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and add avocado oil to a 10″ cast iron skillet
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine ground beef, egg, almond flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and crushed red pepper
  3. Mix until evenly combined and roll into 12 even balls – each ball will be a little over 2 tbsp worth
  4. Heat oil in cast iron skillet over medium heat
  5. When oil is hot, add the meat balls to the pan to cook
  6. Continue cooking for about 6 minutes rotating occassionally until meatballs are browned on all sides
  7. Place the cast iron skillet in the oven at 350F and bake for 12 minutes
  8. Enjoy without sauce or add a jar of marinara directly to the skillet with the meatballs and warm on the stove at medium-low heat for 5 minutes
